Use of Cookies

IP Vault uses a minimal set of cookies to operate our authentication system, remember your language preferences, and analyse aggregate, non-personally identifiable site traffic. This policy explains exactly which cookies are set, why they are set, and how you can control them.

1. Essential Cookies (Always Active)

Essential cookies are necessary for the application to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

• Session Cookie (session) — A cryptographically signed cookie created on login that maintains your authenticated status while navigating the application dashboard. This cookie is HTTP-only, Secure, and expires when your browser session ends or upon logout. It is strictly required for the application to function and contains no personal data beyond an encrypted session reference.
• Language Preference Cookie (lang) — A persistent cookie that stores your selected display language (English or German) so you are served the correct translation on your next visit. It expires after 365 days and contains only a two-letter language code (e.g. "en" or "de"). No personal data is stored.

2. Analytics Cookies (Optional)

We may use Google Analytics to monitor aggregated, non-personally identifiable site traffic patterns (page views, session durations, referral sources). Google Analytics may set cookies under the _ga, _gid, and _gat names. These cookies do not identify you personally and are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

You can disable Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

3. Third-Party Service Cookies

Certain third-party services embedded in or used by IP Vault may set their own cookies or storage objects:

• Stripe Payments: When you visit payment-related pages or initiate a purchase, Stripe may set cookies for fraud detection, security, and payment session continuity. These cookies are governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile (a CAPTCHA alternative) to prevent spam submissions. Cloudflare may set cookies or use browser fingerprinting signals governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• YouTube: The embedded explainer video on the storefront page is served by YouTube (Google). YouTube may set cookies when the video player loads. These are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent YouTube cookies by not interacting with the video.

4. No Marketing or Tracking Cookies

IP Vault does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, cross-site tracking cookies, or sell personal data to third parties. We do not integrate any social media tracking widgets (Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.).

5. How to Manage or Disable Cookies

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to:

• View all cookies set by a site and delete individual cookies
• Block all cookies by default and whitelist specific sites
• Automatically delete all cookies when the browser is closed

Please be aware that disabling the essential session cookie will prevent you from logging in or maintaining an authenticated session on IP Vault. Disabling the language preference cookie means your language selection will not be remembered between visits.

6. Updates to This Policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our technology stack or applicable legislation. Continued use of the platform after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
